- 01Bring a large pot of water to a rolling boil, then salt generously. Add the pasta and cook until al dente according to package directions. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain.
- 02In a large skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and butter. Let the butter melt and foam, swirling occasionally, until it just starts to smell nutty.
- 03Sprinkle in paprika and garlic powder, stirring for 30 seconds to bloom the spices in the fat.
- 04Add the drained pasta to the skillet. Toss vigorously to coat, adding reserved pasta water a splash at a time until the sauce lightly clings to the noodles.
- 05Season generously with black pepper and a pinch more salt if needed, tossing again to combine.
- 06Serve hot, with an optional extra dusting of paprika for color.
