Instructions

  1. 01
Preheat your oven to 400°F. Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with 1 tablespoon olive oil.
  2. 02
Cook the pasta in a large pot of boiling salted water for 2 minutes less than package instructions; drain and set aside.
  3. 03
Meanwhile, heat the remaining 1 tablespoon olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken, season with 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon pepper, and cook, stirring occasionally, until lightly browned and just cooked through, 5 to 7 minutes. Transfer the chicken to a plate.
  4. 04
Reduce heat to medium. Add butter to the skillet, then sauté the onion for 3 to 4 minutes until translucent. Add garlic and Italian seasoning and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly, until fragrant.
  5. 05
Pour in the cooking cream, remaining 1 teaspoon salt, and remaining 1/4 teaspoon pepper. Bring to a gentle simmer and cook 2 minutes to blend flavors.
  6. 06
Return the chicken (and any juices) to the skillet and stir to coat with the creamy sauce. Add cooked pasta and toss everything together until evenly combined.
  7. 07
Spread the mixture evenly in your prepared baking dish. Sprinkle Parmesan evenly over the top.
  8. 08
Bake uncovered until bubbling and the top is golden, about 20 minutes. Let stand 5 minutes before serving.
  9. 09
Garnish with chopped parsley if desired, and serve hot.
