Instructions
- 01Preheat your oven to 375°F and lightly coat a 9-inch pie plate with cooking spray.
- 02Pulse the Cheerios in a food processor until fine crumbs form, about 30 seconds.
- 03In a bowl, combine Cheerios crumbs, melted butter, and half of the grated Parmesan. Mix until the texture resembles wet sand.
- 04Press the Cheerio mixture evenly onto the bottom and sides of the pie plate to form a crust. Use a measuring cup to press firmly for an even thickness.
- 05Bake the crust for 8 minutes. Remove from the oven and let cool while you make the filling.
- 06Meanwhile, cook the boxed mac and cheese according to package directions, using the milk and butter called for on the box.
- 07Remove the pot from heat and stir in the beaten egg, remaining Parmesan, black pepper, salt, and Italian herbs until everything is well combined.
- 08Scoop the mac and cheese mixture into the Cheerios crust, smoothing the top evenly.
- 09Bake the pie for 15-18 minutes until the filling is set and the top is lightly golden.
- 10Cool for 10 minutes, then slice and serve warm.
