If you ever wanted the flavor of a tropical pastry in the form of a bite-sized snowball, this Italian-inspired confection delivers. These truffles teach you the art of binding rich, sticky ingredients, without ever turning on your oven.

    In a medium mixing bowl, combine 7 oz sweetened condensed milk, 1 1/2 cups coconut flakes, 1 tsp vanilla extract, and 1/8 tsp salt. Stir well until a sticky, cohesive mixture forms.

    Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 20 minutes to firm up the mixture.

    Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. With clean hands, scoop out about 1 tablespoon of the chilled mixture and roll it between your palms to form a ball. Repeat until all the mixture is used. You should get about 12 truffles.

    Pour extra coconut flakes onto a plate. Roll each truffle in the flakes, gently pressing so the coating adheres.

    Chill the truffles in the refrigerator for another 10 minutes until firm. Serve cold or at cool room temperature.
