- 01In a medium saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add cumin and paprika and stir constantly for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- 02Add the rice and stir for 2 minutes to coat grains in the spiced oil.
- 03Pour in the water and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 16 minutes without lifting the lid.
- 04Turn off the heat and let the rice rest, covered, for 10 minutes.
- 05Fluff rice gently with a fork, season to taste with salt and black pepper, and serve.
