Herb's take
Inspired by Italian antipasti but fully American at heart, this playful platter turns leftovers into an artful dinner. You’ll learn to make a fast herb-infused oil for drizzling, a restaurant trick that transforms anything into ‘fancy food’ territory.

Instructions
- 01Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment.
- 02Arrange the halved dinner rolls cut-side up on the sheet. Brush lightly with 2 tablespoons of the olive oil. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes until golden and crisp.
- 03While the rolls toast, combine remaining olive oil, garlic, parsley, chives, and basil in a small saucepan. Set over very low heat for 5 minutes to gently infuse the oil. Remove from heat, discard garlic, and let cool slightly.
- 04Microwave the leftover mac and cheese in a large bowl, covered, until hot and creamy, about 2 to 3 minutes. Stir well.
- 05Arrange toasted roll halves on a large platter. Using a scoop or large spoon, place a mound of hot mac and cheese next to or atop each roll half.
- 06Drizzle the warm herb oil over the mac and cheese and rolls.
- 07Sprinkle lemon zest evenly over the platter and garnish with extra chopped herbs if desired. Season everything with salt and pepper to taste.
- 08Serve immediately, letting everyone build their own perfect bite.
